About Pastor Peter and Sheela

Pastor Peter Duraisami

Peter committed his life to the Lord when he was 20. A math graduate from the University of Madras, he went on to become a Chartered Accountant and served in the corporate world for several years. Peter attended Seminary at Tyndale University in Toronto, and in 1996, together with his wife Sheela, founded Church on the Rock.  He continues to serve there as Senior Pastor.

A dynamic preacher, Peter moves in apostolic authority and carries a strong prophetic and healing anointing. Peter’s passion is to build people and see them released into their call. He has a burden for the nations, and has ministered in Australia, South Africa, South Korea, the Middle East, Trinidad, Sri Lanka, India, the U.S. and Canada.

Peter also serves as the Director of Ministries at The Scott Mission, a ministry to the poor and homeless in downtown Toronto. He lives in Toronto with his wife Sheela and two teenage sons, Yohan and Joshua.

Pastor Sheela Duraisami

Radically saved at the age of eighteen, Sheela graduated from the University of Chennai with a Masters degree in English. Later, she pursued theological studies in Canada and earned a Doctorate degree.  Along with her husband Peter, she founded Church on the Rock in 1996 and continues to pastor there with him. She also works as Dean and Professor of English and Christian Education at Canada Christian College, Toronto. 

A prolific speaker, Dr. Sheela Duraisami preaches the word of God with a keen revelatory insight. She carries a unique prophetic mantle with an anointing to bring streams in the desert. A seasoned intercessor, her passion is two-fold: to see the nation of Canada arise to its destiny and to equip people to function in their calling.
